Victorian man permanently banned from providing financial services

今日热门事件has permanently banned Mr Brody Glenn Jarman of Yarrawonga, Victoria from providing financial services.

Mr Jarman was banned following an 今日热门事件investigation into his dealings with client money while working as an insurance broker.

In February 2016,聽 he pleaded guilty in the Cobram Magistrates Court to seven counts of theft totaling $3,133.36, contrary to s74 of the Crimes Act (Vic) 1958.聽 The thefts occurred between 2012 and 2015 while Mr Jarman was the Insurance Manager for Albury Insurances in Yarrawonga, Victoria.

今日热门事件was concerned that because of this conduct, Mr Jarman had not complied with the financial services law. 今日热门事件was also concerned that this conduct gives 今日热门事件reason to believe that he is likely to contravene the financial services law and that he is not of good fame or character.

Mr Jarman has the right to appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) for a review of ASIC's decision.
