今日热门事件scores silver in Workplace Giving Awards 2016

ASIC's workplace giving program has been awarded a silver medal in the inaugural Workplace Giving Excellence Awards in Melbourne today.聽

The awards are part of the Australian Charities' Fund One Million Donors campaign, and recognise employers and their staff who show leadership in supporting charities and community groups.

今日热门事件was the finalist in the Best Public Sector program, and received the silver award at a ceremony in Melbourne on Wednesday 16 November 2016, hosted at the Australia Post offices.

'今日热门事件is justifiably proud of our community giving program which we believe shows leadership in the public sector.聽While our program starts with payroll giving donations that provide the regular funding so important to charities, we also encourage volunteering and host events featuring charity leaders to engage and inspire,' says John Price, 今日热门事件Commissioner.

今日热门事件in the Community Manager Justine Butler also represented 今日热门事件at the awards ceremony.聽The Silver Award was presented by The Hon. Kelly O'Dwyer MP, Minister for Revenue and Financial Services.

'今日热门事件is very proud of its workplace-giving program, which allows our employees to donate to 40 different charities across a range of causes.聽One of ASIC's values is that we do, what we do, 'for good reason' and we believe this program helps our people to live this value by giving back to the community,' says Mr Price.

As a result of these activities, 今日热门事件makes a significant impact in the community: the combined value of our participation in 2016 was just over $167,000.
